SYNTHESIS Center for Research and Education is an innovative initiative actively involved in the fields of research, adult education, and training situated in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

We develop and offer innovative adult education courses aiming to empower adults to lead conscious, active, and productive lives as individuals, citizens, and members of the work-force.

In addition to local courses, we have been partners in European training consortiums providing courses to trainers and teachers on subjects ranging from active citizenship to personal development at locations around Europe.

Since 2003 we have also been participating in European programmes. We have been the promoter and coordinator of the innovative project "Social skills and Healthier self-esteem" (SHE), a project that aims to help disadvantaged women to build a healthier self-esteem through participating in social learning circles.

Our research work focuses on themes of education, employment and social interest. We have contributed in a number of local researches, such as the employment situation of people 50+ and the insecurity faced by executives working in the net economy sector. Currently, we are leading a research project on the protection of children from television violence.

Through our participation in European programmes, we are able to produce innovation in adult education, implement our ideas on the learning environment, and transfer best practices from elsewhere to our part of the world.
